Features over 225 holiday displays ringing the boardwalk at the resort, plus a memorable "Journey to The North Pole" to visit Santa himself! There is a traditional tree lighting ceremony, caroling, and specials in area stores, plus live entertainment during the entire season. December 2 : Pinehurst - Lighting CeremonyDecember 5: Priest River - Children's Christmas Party on Main Street Children's Christmas Party on Main Street, which begins right after school at River Pig's Inn. Santa Claus is available to take pictures with children. Children who bring in a canned good item as a donation to our local food bank receive a free hot chocolate. Hot dogs, toys, and other great items are also available for the kids. December 14: North Idaho - North Idaho Bed and Breakfast Association 19th Annual Holiday Tour 12-5 p.m. This tour is FREE and open to the public. Visit B&B's in the Coeur d'Alene area, Post Falls, north to Athol and Rathdrum and south to St. Maries. You will see beautifully decorated homes ready for the holiday season, all serving delightful refreshments for your enjoyment. December 17: Sandpoint - Five Minutes of Fame. Join other blossoming or seasoned poets, musicians and songbirds for monthly open mic night at Cafe Bodega in Foster's Crossing. Sign up to perform from 6:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Show begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. No cover charge and open to all ages. Five Minutes of Fame happens the third Wednesday of each month. 208-263-5911 December 19: Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort - Shot in the Dark Rail Jam. The first in a series of monthly rail jams. Shot in the Dark takes place under the night lights right in the heart of Schweitzer's village. Each event has a unique feature designed by Spinney Bent Fabrication. Prizes for top riders. He hits Stella first, then stops off at the Selkirk Lodge on Wednesday afternoon to make sure all the wish list are in. Passing candy out from 1-3pm each day, then leading a balloon parade at 2pm from the top of the Basin Express chair.
