April 5-6: Sandpoint - Tropical Daze This two-day celebration is the grand finale of the season at Schweitzer. Past years have turned the resort into a Caribbean themed destination, details to come on the theme for this season. The celebration offers something for everyone with live music, pond skimming, outdoor snow bars, games, a Rubber Ducky Derby benefit for the Rotary, and the ever-popular Downhill Dummy Race. Schweitzer.com 208-263-9555

April 9: Sandpoint - Sandpoint Teen Slam Lost Horse Press is pleased to present the Sandpoint Teen Slam, the first in a series of 6 spoken word venues for young writers in the Rude Girls Room of the Sandpoint Library, the co-host of the Slam. The winners of the Sandpoint Teen Slam will go on to represent Sandpoint in the finals of the Get Lit Teen Slam in Spokane, Washington in late April. Sign up 30 minutes prior to the Slam. April 11: Sandpoint - Kahurangi Maori Dancers Traditional tribal performers from New Zealand.  In addition to the educational performances and workshops for youth, POAC will be working with our community-  at-large to include them in a traditional aboriginal welcome. April 19-20: Coeur d'Alene - Spring Concert - April 19, 2008, 7:30 PM and April 20, 2008, 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 521 E. Lakeside in Coeur d'Alene features Gospel and other forms of contemporary sacred music, such as jazz, have always been audience favorites, so we're going to feature those genres in our final concert this season. The concert will be built around Michael Kissinger's Sacred Cantata, which features a number of different musical styles, from gospel to ballad to country, all done with a light jazz flair. We'll be rounding things out with other jazz and contemporary anthems, as well as a set of hand-clapping gospel pieces. Northwest Sacred Music Chorale 208-772-3491

April 23: Sandpoint - Carl Rosa Opera presents: "HMS PINAFORE" This sea-faring smash hit show performed by Carl Rosa's superb cast and orchestra, is bursting with Gilbert's brilliant satiric wit and packed with some of Sullivan's most popular songs. Bringing to life some of operetta's best-loved comic characters, from Sir Joseph Porter and Little Buttercup, to Captain Corcoran, Dick Deadeye, and young romantics, Josephine and Ralph, HMS Pinafore is a musical delight for everyone to enjoy.
